Achari Paneer (Cottage Cheese Flavored With Pickles)

I am a huge fan of Paneer and so I always look forward to making paneer in new and different ways. Achari Paneer is spicy dry curry flavoured with Indian pickles. I love it with Ajwain Paratha...mmmmm!!!. Basically this dish tastes like Indian Pickle.  So like me if you are fond of both Paneer and Pickle –then do make this. . It is very simple and easy to prepare.

Ingredients:
Paneer cut into cubes – almost 2 cups
Mustard Seeds (Rai) – 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds (Methi ) – 1/2 tsp
Onion Seeds(Kalonji) – 1/2 tsp
Cumin (Jeera) – 1 tsp
Crushed Fennel (Sauf)- 2 tsp
Chopped Capsicum- 1/2
Chopped Onions – 3
Chopped Green chillies – 3 -4
Turmeric powder (Haldi)– 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste-1 Tbsp
Beaten curd –  4 Tbsp
Chopped Tomato- 1
Red Chilli powder (Lal Mirch) – 1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Oil –  1 ½  tbsp

Method:
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, onion seeds, fennel and cumin and fry till they crackle.
Add chopped onions, capsicum and green chillies and saute until golden.
Add in turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and fry for 2-3 minutes or till raw smell goes away.
Then add in chopped tomato and wait till it is soft.
Gradually put beaten curd stirring continuously.
Add salt and red chilli powder and cook till curd dries slightly .Just before serving mix in paneer (if you want you can fry paneer).

Serve hot with bread or rice.
